Sunday – 9:30 PM

My own Dear Dearie!

Received your dear letter tonight. Sure looking for it. Jackson's left about noon today. Sure wanted to come, but decided I just might as well get used to it.

Bonnie and I went out in the country today. I had some papers to get signed up on my oil deal and asked her to go along. We made quite a drive, 60 miles there and back. When I got in they told me Sarah was phoning for me and I got hold of her and she tells me Ella has been sick about 2 weeks and that they had sent her a night letter wanting her and I to come up. Ella is to be operated on tomorrow. I have just talked with Ross over phone and he says doctors give a little hope this evening. She has ulcers and gallstones. Sarah left on the 8:35 PM Santa Fe and will be in Manhattan tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Dad will get into Manhattan tonight sometime. Ross said he would be in before long when I talked with him. Martin taken him up to the main line north of Coldwater. ( Sarah, Ella, Ross and Martin are his sisters and brothers. )

He said he would telegraph me and if I have to go, I will call Martin and it may be that I will drive to Coldwater and we can go together from there.

I am in hopes that she has strength to pull through. She has a lot of nerve but it may be she is too weak to make it. If anything serious happens I will call you and you could come up from there. I don't know what connection you can make but better than the ones up here I should guess. I am so glad Mrs. Stecher ( wife of Dr. Stecher in Supply ) was able to get over to see you. I knew she was going and I bet it was quite an agreeable surprise. Well Dear, there is no news to speak of – just the same old things. I sure need you tonight. I am blue, blue. Kiss my baby girl for me. That was sure a dear letter she wrote me. I think it fine. Bless her little dear heart.

How are the Boys making it? Are they studying hard? Has Donald made the Band? If he doesn't make it now I bet he makes it later on.

Give Boys my love and tell them I am pulling for them. Sure want them both to make good and I know they will.

Goodnight Dear Heart. My own dear, dear girl.

Yours forever,

Percy
